Game Features ASF

This game is a turn based strategy game with campaigns and storyline. Players build armies and level up their units by engaging in battles.

You Are The General

You, the player, get to choose your own General character. Your job as General is to try to lead your army into battle and strategically manipulate your army to win the battle.

Army Unit and General/Commander Classes

There are five different base classes: warrior, rogue, archer, mage, and cleric. From there, each base class branches off into two more specific classes. Player starts out with a General and four Commanders. These units will have special abilities that will be activated because of their General/Commander status. The player also begins with has 7 units in their army (4 warriors and 3 archers).

Leveling

Level up your units so you can take on the strongest of enemies.

Campaign

Players can send their heroes to complete campaign missions where they battle through enemy territory. Players can choose between fun/random/short story missions or missions that continue the game's storyline. After winning the battle, the player may win gold, medals or even a rare item.

Your Fortress

Players create their own fortress where they can level up their buildings and create their own castle. In their castle, players can build walls, traps and other defenses to protect their gold vaults and other valuables from attacking armies.

Alliances

Players can connect with the community and join alliances. Once in an alliance, players can participate in alliance wars and other alliance activities and perks.


PVP
Battle against other player's armies in head to head combat.

More Uniqueness
I would like the game to be a collection of people's contributions. For example, people could email me their own creations for monsters, weapons, clothing, characters etc. and I would incorporate their creation into the game. People can also send me ideas they think will make this game more interesting and engaging.

Graphics Ideas(Eyes) #2




I was recently talking to a friend about cartoons we used to watch when we were younger. Somehow anime got brought up. My friend stated that she hated anime. She said she has tried watching anime, but something about it just rubbed her the wrong way. My game's graphics were going to be slightly anime style (for example the eyes), but this conversation has made me reconsider.

I still want my game cartoony, but maybe a little bit more realistic (no impossible hair styles, no weird hair colors, no anime eyes). I personally enjoy anime, which was why my game graphics were leaning in that direction.

I'm working on creating some eyes that are not the "anime eyes" style.

Player Character Body Creation


A while back I downloaded a great free 3D program called Blender to create all the graphics (I'm using Photoshop CS5 to create the 2D images like the buttons and windows).  I was a bit intimidated when I first opened up Blender. There were so many buttons and words that I had no idea how to use or understand. Luckily Blender's tutorials and Youtube helped me figure out how to navigate the program. It didn't take me long to be able to confidently use the basic tools and create something that didn't look too bad.

I've been working on creating the body model for the characters for a long time now and I think I have come up with something that I'm happy with. The body has gone through a lot of changes and tweaks, along with complete start-overs. I finally came up with this one.



Then I decided to make the character look more cartoonish, so I re-proportioned the body. The head, arms, torso, and legs are now all about the same length. I also enlarged the head a bit so the character would look less realistic.



I'm sure the character body will go through some more small tweaks/changes, but this is roughly what the body will look like in the final game.

Graphics Ideas


Why Are They That Important?

Graphics can make or break a game. Some people won't even pick up a game if they don't like the graphics. The first games had pixelated graphics, like Pokemon and Mario. Some game developers today want the pixelated look for their games to bring back the old school style. Now, many popular games are in 3D and many players like this because they have a  realistic feel. 

What I Am Thinking..
Since so many games are in 3D, I believe this game should be too. Also, there are not many mobile phone MMORPG games that are 3D. I don't want the graphics to be too realistic because I want it to be easy for people to create their own graphics for the game. I love Skyrim's graphics, but I believe they are a bit too complicated. I think a cartoon style is a good way to go because it is somewhat realistic, but with simpler graphics.

 The pictures here display the types of graphics that I want to base my game's graphics off of.  

The photo to the left is from the PC MMORPG game Dragon Saga. I don't want to go in the anime direction, but I do like the game's cartoon style (backgrounds and objects)

The objects may look complicated and hard to create, but actually they are pretty simple shapes. The coloring and shading are what makes them look more realistic.

Game Features LOA


This game will similar to MMORPGS (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game), but with a unique twist.


You Are A God

You, the player, get to create your own god character and a hero character. Your job as god is to try to lead your hero in the right direction (hopefully they will listen).

Free Will

The hero is like a real person and will do quests, buy and sell items, and equip items on their own. The god can influence the hero, but the hero will not always listen

Five Character Classes

Gods start out by choosing which base class they want their hero to be in. There are five different base classes: warrior, rogue, archer, mage, and cleric. From there, each base class branches off into two more specific classes.

Quests

A huge number of quests will be available to complete. Players can choose between fun/random/short story quests or quests that continue the game's storyline.

Guilds

Players can connect with the community and join guilds. Once in a guild, players can participate in guild battles and other guild activities.

Missions

Players can send their heroes to complete missions where they battle through monster infested territory and finally face off against a mission boss monster. After beating the mission boss monster, the hero may win gold, experience or even a rare item.

Dungeons

Dungeons are special where heroes can go to defeat dungeon bosses and the boss’s lieutenants. Dungeons differ from Missions because they involve the player at certain stages (player may need to do something or complete a puzzle/riddle). At these special parts of the dungeon, the god has full control over the hero.

PVP

Battle against other god's heroes in head to head combat. Show off your hero's skills and skill combinations. Players can battle one vs. one up to six vs. six.

The Beginning



I have decided to create a very unique MMORPG (Massively multiplayer online role-playing game) game for mobile phones and I want to share the journey with the world. I also want to integrate other people's ideas and creations into the game as well.

A Little Bit About Myself

My mom tells me that the first four words I ever said were Mama, Dada, Momo (the name of our cat), and money. As a child I loved money: to play with it, collect it, count it, organize it, and receive it. It is no surprise that I have become an entrepreneur.

From a young age I loved to draw. I produced a series of different types of shoes, a comic strip featuring life from the point of view of a number two pencil, and many drawings of realistic predators. When I was seven, my mom told me that she used to sell her handmade jewelry and that if I wanted to sell my art work, she would help me. This story sparked my first business creating greeting cards featuring my original drawing of cats. As a young entrepreneur, I priced materials and printing costs to and then sold my cards to family members, friends, and neighbors.

I continued with my art work, but my interests shifted toward technology. I started taking apart almost anything that I could get my hands on: remote controls, calculators, radios, tape players, and electronic handheld games. Because of my curiosity about electronics and my knowledge of new devices, my dad began to call me GadgetGirl.

During sixth grade, I broke my iPod Touch’s glass screen. Instead of paying the ridiculous Apple repair price, I decided to fix it myself. I bought the parts and watched a YouTube tutorial on iPod Touch disassembly. Finally, I mustered up enough courage and opened my iPod, and amazingly, I discovered that I could swap out the glass and other parts that required replacement. It was then that I realized that I could buy broken iPods, fix them, and then sell them for a profit. I studied how to fix iPods, iPhones, and other mobile devices by watching YouTube videos and reading disassembly guides online.

When I turned eleven, I opened an eBay account, and created the business I run today: GadgetGirl1334. I purchased parts and broken iPods from eBay, fixing many of them, and selling the repaired ones. The news that I could fix broken mobile devices spread through middle school and students began asking me to repair their gadgets. I created a website for people to read about what I was doing and to purchase repair service.

My latest business venture is the creation of a 3D multi-player mobile device game. This allows me to combine my interests in art, technology, and business. In the beginning, I knew that to produce a popular game, I would need something that would make it unique. I came up with the idea to create a MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game), but with a twist. My game has an element of character free will, unlike other RPGs.

The game concept and mechanics are nearly complete, and now I am teaching myself advertising strategies and how to construct 3D graphics. I am building a team to accelerate the development process and am pursuing funding options. My GadgetGirl1334 repair business is still running, but my main focus is the construction of my game. 


I am planning to work on my game while at college (hopefully Oberlin College or Hampshire College).
